Commemoration
of 63rd anniversary of Palestinian Nakba
May
15th, 2011 was the 63rd anniversary of Palestinian Nakba were Palestinians had
been expelled from their homes by Israeli forces during 1948 war. iYouth
members decided to celebrate the event but in a different way than usual.
On
May 21st, 2011, iYouth members went to an UNRWA school to give the students a
lesson about how to express their feelings in a non-violent ways like dialogue,
music, and art.
After
finishing the lesson, youth helped students to express their feelings about
Nakba anniversary by Art. Two Palestinian artists (Nabil Abu Ghanima and Salman
Al Nawati) shared their time with the children, helped them drawing and
painting.
While
the students were drawing their own drawings, the two artists made a drawing
expressing the Nakba anniversary.
Overall
of 20 iYouth members were engaged in the action. And about 50 students were
reached.
